Architecture of the New China
Landmark Projects of Beijing
Griffin/DSI Gallery • Boston, MA • September 2010
Andy Ryan captures layers of urban development with an artistic eye. He chronicles in still and moving imagery massive architectural and public work projects both nationally and abroad. Hired by private engineering companies, architectural firms and government agencies, Ryan creates images that provide technical information, progress reports, and structural impact analysis, assisting in these multi-million dollar endeavors from inception to completion.
In curating this exhibition I focused on his sensitive eye for composition and graphic detail, along with his uncanny ability to animate buildings in all phases of construction and times of day.
