As we collaborate and innovate to create community during a worldwide pandemic, a stunning example is the Journal_Collective, a collective featuring over 400 women photographers from 6 regions of the world; Africa, Asia, North America, South America, Australia and the Middle East.

Begun as a document of the impact of the pandemic, the collective has grown to a platform uniting women photographers into 45 groups. Each geographically mixed group meets and creates an image series around a theme, such as: Change, Resilience, Love, Nourish, Transit, Childhood, Cycle. The selections are curated by the different groups as well as, women guest curators within the international photography field, and shared on an Instagram platform which has grown to an audience of over 11k followers.

See the full exhibit on the Journal_Collective's Instagram feed with work by 40 women from 5 regions of the world.
This is the possibility of which Rebecca Solnit speaks in her quote from Hope In The Dark. “The old certainties are crumbling fast, but danger and possibility are sisters.”
