Orient Point Lighthouse — Artist Residency
Some wishes do come true!!!
Not everyone dreams of going to a lighthouse.
For years have I said out loud that I want to escape to a lighthouse to be surrounded by the ocean with my writing and the books I long to dive into.
To be sequestered on purpose with a purpose has landed me on a pile of rocks in an artist residency in a working lighthouse. My seafaring home for 10 magnificent days of concentrated reading, writing and research. Egrets at daybreak, seagulls at gloaming, wind, currents, light, clouds my constant companion.
Pared down to essentials and such elements allowed layers of my outside world to fall away. Time takes on a different dimension and powers focus. Full on creative space such as this is a tremendous gift.
I worked here on the horizon with full focus on finishing my book on concept development introducing my framework to expand awareness of how we see — & why & how it matters.
I am hugely grateful to the generous vision of Randy Polumbo, the expert caretaking of Keeper David Chaffin and the prowess of Captain Bob to land us safely on a pile of rocks and to gift fresh striped bass to boot! And a special thanks to Lori Hawkins for connecting me with Randy and his special work at the lighthouse.
Am getting my land legs back having crafted an invaluable framework to finish my book, Concept Aware®.
