The Concept Aware® Framework
How You See & Why It Matters
Overview:
My innovative framework, Concept Aware®, provides visual artists with specific tools to bring their abstract ideas to fruition in image, text exhibition and photobook. It explores the eight essential elements of creative practice, examining how our unique ways of seeing influence our artistic expression. The outcome is an individualized roadmap to refine and expand your creative practice.
A guiding belief is that by keeping a sharp focus on your creative process the outcome, whether an image, artist statement, exhibition or photobook, evolves organically.
My foundational premise is that a circular relationship exists between engaging one’s enthusiasm while making an image with the punctum, the emotional impact, inherent within it.
Concept Aware® assists artists at any stage in their professional development. Classes are offered in academic institutions and arts and educational organizations, in person and virtually.
Concept Aware® guides visual artists to:
Discover new ways of seeing
Refine images and edits
Craft dynamic sequences
Innovative ways of thinking and working
Articulate their artistic intentions
Identify the intersecting themes inherent in their work
Build a matrix
Contextualize their work
