Exciting Fall Updates!
Greetings!
I want to share exciting updates that have been percolating and are making their debut this Fall.
They include free resources and discounted consultations. It begins with exploring my newly re-launched website. Explore each section linked below for information and inspiration.
A beautifully crafted article and editorial spread written by Frances Jakubek and art directed by Bob Packert for JOURny Magazine. If you are curious about what I do, why and how — this covers it. We took inspiration from Irving Penn’s famous triangle set - hence my becoming one of his sitters, Dali.
My solo artist residency in a functioning free-standing lighthouse where the Long Island Sound meets the Atlantic Ocean was a dream come true. I read 5 books and rewrote the structure of my pending publication — all surrounded by seabirds and stunning lightshows daybreak to starry nights.
Portfolio reviewing at Arles in July is my idea of fun. Being surrounded and immersed by exhibitions, projections and lectures for a week filled my creative cup — I put out a series of my finds on IN at @jsybylla. A full circle moment was seeing a portfolio reviewee from my reviews at ICP last Spring shown at LUMA as a Dior award winner. And an Arles reviewee from Spain engaging in ongoing virtual mentorship.
For a broad brush of how I have grown Concept Aware® into a framework, podcast and an instructive book visit my About Page. In my JourNY editorial I wore my F.I.T. couture project dress - with a feathered headdress for fun. It took over 200 hours of handstitching 12 yards of iridescent silk chiffon to create!
Collaboration is my favorite sport. Art directing, photoediting and writing a synopsis for Pulses: A Memoir Through Art, recently published by Workshop Arts, meant being in design mind with book designer Caleb Cain Marcus and artist Jennie Evans. Stay tuned for our book talks and listen to a DSI sponsored webinar on our process: On The Way To A Book.
My travel plans are curtailed to focus on writing my Concept Aware® book. Paris Photo, my favorite stomping grounds, will be sorely missed as I fasten my seat belt on my studio chair.
A bientot!
