Concept Aware® LIVE!!!

I am thrilled to invite you to participate in our inaugural live Concept Aware® podcast recording at the Leica Store & Gallery Boston on Saturday, January 17, 2026.

Keeping Women’s Rights in the Picture: A Live Discussion, is a community-centered, interactive event focused on women’s rights, representation, and photography as a tool for reflection and civic engagement.

Our panel discussion features A Yellow Rose Project founders Frances Jakubek and Meg Griffiths, alongside participating artists Jordanna Kalman and Kathya Maria Landeros to explore creative practice, image-making, and the evolving role of women visual storytellers.

This two-part collaboration between Leica, A Yellow Rose Project, and the Concept Aware® podcast offers our audience an opportunity to create their own image in the spirit of The Yellow Rose Project and share it on International Women’s Day. Details here.

Images in order from left to right by Meg Griffiths, Frances Jakubek, Kathya Landeros, and Jordanna Kalman.

My next podcast stop is the Brooklyn Museum to highlight the recent acquisition of Lillian Bassman’s Tunic Suit, Sunny Harnett, suit by Charles James. This is a full circle moment for me as I have been a Bassman groupie for decades. I will be in conversation with Lillian’s daughter, Lizzie Himmel, Vince Aletti, the noted photo critic and expert on magazine culture, along with Pauline Vermare, the Philip and Edith Leonian Curator of Photography.

These activities are bright spots during challenging times. Art and culture binds us together. Collaboration, curiosity and creativity are key. Thank you for being a part of the Concept Aware® community. Please consider supporting our visual culture conversation by joining one of our membership levels.
